This program of INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAIʻI looked at the plight of workers and small businesses in our continuing coverage of COVID-19 in Hawaiʻi. Many residents and small businesses were already having a tough time making ends meet before the coronavirus outbreak and government shutdowns. Now, with only select businesses allowed to reopen and the tourism industry on hold, tens of thousands of residents face an uncertain financial future. How do you plan when your resources are so stretched? How do you commit to a loan you don’t know you can repay?
