Bill Paty
Helping to Conserve Hawaii's Natural Environment

Bill Paty has a life story that spans nine decades of personal and Hawaii history. Many residents probably remember Paty as the state land director during Governor John Waihee's administration. In the 1970s, Paty presided over the historic Constitutional Convention and later served as chairman of the State Board of Land and Natural Resources, where he had the chance to fulfill his dream of helping to conserve Hawaii's natural environment for future generations. Now, at age 90, Bill Paty talks with Leslie Wilcox about all this and how he remains actively involved in business, environmental, military and non-profit endeavors.
