Hawaiian Airlines Presents: Na Mele at Halekulani's House Without A Key

NA MELE goes on location to document a traditional, cherished Hawaiian experience. The Halekulani has a special place in the hearts of Hawaii's people and everyone who has spent time there. PBS Hawaii captures a late afternoon at the hotel's House Without a Key with hula dancers Kanoe Miller and Debbie Nakanelua-Richards, and the musical trio Pa'ahana (Pakala Fernandes, Kaipo Kukahiko and Douglas Po'oloa Tolentino).


Na Mele Treasures I

This modern classic, recorded in 2006, features some of Hawaii's greatest talents: Robert Cazimero, Iwalani Kahalewai, Bill Kaiwa, Nina Kealiiwahamana and Emma Veary. This encore of the first installment in the Na Mele Treasures series is presented in memory of Uncle Bill and Aunty Iwalani, who have since passed on.

Na Lani Eha from Iolani Palace presented by Hawaiian Airlines

Contemporary local artists bring music from Hawaii's monarchy era to life from inside the majestic halls of Iolani Palace. PBS Hawaii was granted access to the historic palace, where TV cameras and crews are rarely allowed. The program features Marlene Sai, Robert Cazimero, Nina Kealiiwahamana, Haunani Apoliona, Dennis and David Kamakahi, Aaron Mahi, Kuuipo Kumukahi and the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Serenaders, Jeff Peterson, Helene Woodward, Ilana Mahiehie Davis and the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus directed by Nola Nahulu.
