Great Performances Tony Bennett: Duets II
A PBS Hawaii LIVE Pledge-of-Support Event

Sunday, March 11 at 7:00 pm

Legendary vocalist Tony Bennett won his first Grammy award in 1962 for "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." The 85-year-old Bennett last year paired up with contemporary singers to make old songs new again, in a three-time Grammy award-winning album. PBS Hawaii will broadcast these vocal pairings on Great Performances Tony Bennett: Duets II Sunday, March 11 at 7:00 pm.

Duets II

Featured with Bennett are Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, John Mayer, k.d. lang, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah, Norah Jones, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and the late Amy Winehouse in what turned out to be her last performance.

PBS Hawaii President and CEO Leslie Wilcox introduces jazz vocalist Shari Lynn and crooner Al Waterson as co-hosts for this pledge-of-support program. Later in the evening, the station's lobby will be transformed into a cabaret lounge for a local segment of duets by Shari Lynn and Mary Gutzi, Al Waterson and Ginai, and trumpet player DeShannon Higa and his wife, singer Rocky Brown. They'll be accompanied by Dan Del Negro on the piano and John Kolivas on upright bass.
