ELVIS, ALOHA FROM HAWAII
Encore Presentation
Saturday, December 13 at 9:30 p.m.
On January 14,1973, Elvis Presley - the king of rock and roll - performed to a sold out audience at the Honolulu International Center. It was the first concert by a solo artist to be broadcast live via satellite to an international audience.
Forty years later, PBS Hawaii viewers can relive that historic night with Elvis, Aloha from Hawaii. An encore presentation of the 90-minute concert special airs Saturday, December 13 at 9:30 pm. President and CEO Leslie Wilcox and legendary concert promoter Tom Moffatt co-hosted this fundraising event for PBS Hawaii programming. UH Manoa sorority Beta Beta Gamma volunteered on the phone bank, while sporting the era's fashion.
