Artist2 is anything but square. A follow up to last year's popular "Artist" show, "Artist2" takes us once again
into the creative process from an artist's point of view. These beautifully photographed and compelling
stories show the stunning breadth of art and creativity in Hawaii today.

AQUARIUS is arguably Tadashi Sato's most famous work of art. 40 years after the 36-foot circular mosaic was installed in our state Capitol rotunda, a massive reinstallation of Aquarius was undertaken to repair significant age and weather damage. We meet the team of architects, artists, craftsmen and conservators who worked to restore this significant work of public art.

ORIENTAL LOVE RING was a popular new wave rock band in Hawaii, circa 1989. 20 years later the band has reunited. This is the story of how a farmer, a cop, a high-tech CEO and a guitar salesman come together after decades, all in the name of creativity and rock and roll.

DOUG YOUNG is a noted Hawaii artist, probably best known for his photo-realistic watercolor paintings and murals. In 2006 Young was commissioned to create a series of large art glass murals that would be the centerpiece of the new Kapolei Judiciary Complex. We follow Doug's three-year creative journey that takes him from the waters of Anianiku in West Oahu to Germany and back to Hawaii for the final installation.

THE PACIFIC RIM CHILDREN'S CHORUS FESTIVAL: VOICES ON THE WIND. Youth choirs from across the United States converge in Hawaii for an intensive, "crash course" in the traditional folk music of Pacific Rim cultures. The festival culminates in a stunning concert at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in which hundreds of individual voices come together as one. The concert is a highly-charged metaphor for diverse cultures coming together through the universal language of music.
